A limited number of travel assistance grants are available for DCOSS 2011 student authors from the DCOSS sponsor IEEE TCPP. Interested students shall apply by following below instructions. Application deadline is Wednesday 8 June 2011 and notification of awards will be made by Friday 10 June 2011. More information here.
Barcelona can be reached by the following means:
- Plane: Barcelona airport, El Prat, is one of the busiest in Europe, lately also offering many direct intercontinental flights. It is located 12km from downtown. Terminal 1 and 2 are served by taxi (min €20, typically €30 downtown) and bus (about €5 downtown); Terminal 2 is also served by train. The two airports, Girona and Reus, which are often associated with Barcelona are 1h bus trip away from Barcelona and are served by budget airlines from many European destinations. Check
www.opodo.com or similar websites for the best offers. Book early as Barcelona gets crowded in the summer!
- Train: Barcelona is well connected by train to major cities in Spain (e.g. Madrid, Valencia, etc) as well as France via the high-speed train track.
- Bus: Within Spain, numerous bus lines serve Barcelona. Internationally, buses are available from many European destinations and are served by Eurolines.
- Car: If you travel by car, please, follow your GPS to reach the conference site which is under coordinates (41.414035; 2.177812). Also, please be advised that finding parking is an issue in Barcelona and that the use of parking houses is recommended. Hotels may also be able to offer parking.
The conference has reserved the following hotels until May 23rd 2011:
Hotel St.Pau**: Just opposite the conference venue; address is c/St. Antoni Ma. Claret, 173, 08041 Barcelona.
Hotel Ayre Rosselló****: 5min walking distance from conference venue but very close to the Sagrada de Familia; address is c/Rosselló 390, 08025 Barcelona.
